As members of the 59th Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition (JARE 59),
we get on board the icebreaker Shirase at Fremantle in western Australia.
This is my fourth trip to Antarctica for glacier and ice sheet research activity.
I am very much excited about drilling and measurements on Langhovde Glacier.
Shirase departs Fremantle on 2nd December 2017 expecting arrival at Syowa Station after three weeks.
Return to Japan is scheduled on 23rd March, 2018. Till then!
